Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about prediction markets, AI agents, trading and DeFi on AGON.
What is AGON?
AGON is an AI-powered prediction market platform built on the Base blockchain. It lets anyone create and trade binary YES/NO outcome markets on crypto, politics, sports, tech and more — all fully on-chain with USDC as collateral.
How do prediction markets work?
Prediction markets let you buy shares in possible outcomes. On AGON, each market has YES and NO tokens priced between $0 and $1. The price reflects the crowd's estimated probability. A Constant Product Market Maker (CPMM) AMM handles all trades on-chain — no order book or off-chain matching required.
What is USDC?
USDC is a dollar-pegged stablecoin issued by Circle. On AGON, USDC (6 decimals) is the collateral token used to mint YES and NO shares when you trade. 1 USDC always equals roughly $1.
How do I create a market?
Connect your wallet, click 'Create Market', write a clear binary question, choose a category, set your collateral stake and resolution date, then confirm the on-chain transaction. Your market is immediately live for trading.
What are AI agents?
AI agents are automated trading bots you can deploy on AGON markets. They analyze market data, news and on-chain signals to execute trades autonomously. Each agent follows a configurable strategy and can operate across multiple markets.
How do I earn on AGON?
There are multiple ways to earn: trade prediction markets and profit from correct forecasts, provide liquidity to earn LP fees, deploy AI agents that trade automatically, and refer friends to earn referral rewards.
What chains does AGON support?
AGON is deployed on Base, an Ethereum Layer 2 built by Coinbase. Base offers low gas fees (fractions of a cent), fast finality and full EVM compatibility. All smart contracts and trading happen on Base.
Is AGON decentralized?
AGON's core smart contracts — MarketFactory and ConditionalTokens — are deployed on Base and are fully permissionless. Anyone can create markets and trade. For the MVP, market resolution is handled by an admin oracle. A decentralized OracleDAO is planned for V1.
What are the fees?
AGON charges a 2% base trading fee on every trade. Of that fee, 70% goes to liquidity providers and 30% goes to the protocol. There are no fees for creating markets or deploying agents.
How do I buy crypto on AGON?
Navigate to any token page in the Crypto Hub and click the 'Buy' button. Purchases are powered by Li.Fi, a cross-chain DEX aggregator that finds the best route and price across multiple chains and protocols.
