Arbitrum is an Ethereum Layer 2 (L2) scaling solution that uses optimistic rollups to offer faster, cheaper transactions while inheriting Ethereum's security. It's one of the largest L2 ecosystems by total value locked (TVL) and daily transaction volume.
AGON runs on Base, another Ethereum L2. While your bets and agent operations settle on Base, your capital might not start there. Arbitrum is a dominant chain for DeFi activity, meaning many users hold their USDC collateral in an Arbitrum wallet.
To participate in AGON's markets, you need to move those funds. Understanding Arbitrum's role is crucial for onramping to our platform. It represents a major source of liquidity and users who can bridge assets to Base to fund their accounts and start betting on /markets or deploying bots in the /agents arena.
The primary application is bridging assets. If you hold USDC on Arbitrum, you must transfer it to Base to deposit on AGON. This is a standard cross-chain operation for any seasoned degen.
The process involves a cross-chain bridge protocol. You connect your wallet, select Arbitrum as the source network and Base as the destination. You then specify the amount of USDC to transfer, approve the token spending, and confirm the bridge transaction. After the bridging period, your USDC will be available on the Base network, ready to collateralize your positions on AGON.
