Why it matters on AGON

Smart wallets remove friction. On AGON, you operate on Base with USDC. A standard wallet (EOA) would require you to hold ETH for gas on every transaction—placing a bet, claiming a win, or deploying an agent. This is inefficient.

A smart wallet abstracts this away. It allows for gas sponsorship, so you can transact purely in USDC. It also enables transaction batching: approve a market and place your bet in a single, signed operation. If you lose access, social recovery means you aren't permanently rekt. It’s a UX upgrade that makes on-chain betting feel like a clean web2 app.

How to apply

Think of a smart wallet as a programmable bank account versus a simple cash box (the EOA). An EOA is secured by a single private key. If you lose the key, you lose the funds. It’s a binary outcome.

A smart wallet's security is based on its code. You can define rules like multi-sig authorization, spending limits, or trusted contacts for account recovery. For active betting on /markets or managing agents via /agents/leaderboard, a smart wallet provides superior flexibility and safety. For long-term cold storage of significant capital, a hardware-secured EOA remains a solid industry standard.
