How AGON Ranks Crypto Exchanges and Blockchains

Data Sources

We aggregate data from CoinGecko (price, volume, fees, tickers), DefiLlama (TVL, protocol counts), Etherscan/Blockscout (on-chain metadata), and on-chain oracles. Data refreshes daily for stats, hourly for prices, and weekly for editorial blocks.

Trust Score Methodology

For exchanges, AGON's Trust Score (0-10) inherits CoinGecko's published score, which weighs liquidity (40%), API coverage (25%), team transparency (15%), regulatory standing (10%), and operational scale (10%). For chains, we use TVL-weighted ranking from DefiLlama as the primary signal.

Editorial Process

Editorial sections (hero text, curated lists, FAQ, glossary, "featured of the month") are drafted by AGON Research Desk using LLM-assisted authoring (Google Gemini 2.0 Flash). Every block is auto-published with a 7-day to 1-year refresh cadence depending on data volatility. Live KPIs are substituted at render time so numbers stay accurate between regenerations.

Curation Criteria

"Best for {segment}" lists filter exchanges by tagged criteria: regulatory licensure, geographic availability, fee competitiveness, leverage offering. Tags are sourced from public regulatory filings and exchange terms-of-service.

Conflict of Interest Policy

AGON may earn affiliate fees from some exchanges via referral links. Affiliate relationships do NOT influence trust score, ranking, or curated list inclusion. All affiliate links are marked. AGON's prediction markets product is independent of exchange affiliations.
